Former President Donald Trump publicly criticized Fox News anchor Jacqui Heinrich on his Truth Social platform on Sunday. Trump’s remarks focused on Heinrich’s interview with Rep. Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, where he expressed dissatisfaction with her handling of the segment. He accused Fox News of providing airtime to what he referred to as “professional liars.”
Approximately 90 minutes before his specific criticism of Heinrich, Trump posted an earlier complaint about Khanna’s appearance on Fox News. He suggested that Khanna was not challenged enough during his interview, which he believed compromised the quality of the network’s discussions.
Trump’s Critique of Fox News’ Programming Choices
In a later post, Trump named Heinrich directly, arguing that her segment undermined what he described as a “Common Sense dialogue” frequently occurring on Fox News. He stated, “You could listen to FoxNews all day long, absolutely devour it, but then, when you hear SLEAZEBAGS, like Congressman Ro Khanna, ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing,’ LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE AGAIN, without any pushback, or competent rebuttal from an anchor, in this case, Jacqui Heinrich, the entire Common Sense dialogue that has been going on all day at Fox is completely obliterated!”
Trump also extended his critique to other network guests, including comedian Bill Maher and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries from New York. He questioned the decision to feature such individuals on the network. Trump commented, “Why would Fox put SCUM like this on, or others, such as Low Rated Bill Maher, who gains ‘credibility’ by constant referral to him as though he were a Liberal source of ‘Wisdom,’ or very Low IQ Hakeem Jeffries, who considers the Supreme Court ‘illegitimate’ and probably hates our Country?”
Concerns Over Political Coverage
Trump argued that even if he perceives some favorable coverage throughout the day on Fox News, the presence of figures like Khanna ultimately negates those positive elements. He stated, “No matter how ‘Fair and Balanced’ the day’s News at Fox may be, the end result is destroyed by professional Liars, Conmen, and Liberal, Crooked Politicians.” He claimed that such programming decisions contributed to dissatisfaction among his supporters.
In further remarks, he noted, “This is why MAGA Republicans, who are actually close to 100% of the Party, hate Fox, despite the wonderful contributions made by so many of their great anchors and commentators. Hard to win Elections like this!”
Earlier on the same day, Trump had criticized Khanna’s appearance on the network, albeit without directly naming Heinrich. He contended that the congressman should not appear on Fox News unless a capable anchor is present to counter his narrative. Trump expressed his concerns about the credibility of the narratives being discussed without adequate rebuttal from the host.
Trump’s Comments on Economic Policy
Trump also addressed Khanna’s statements regarding the U.S. steel industry, asserting that Democrats were attempting to claim credit for economic developments that he believes are attributed to his administration’s policies. He remarked that Khanna was attempting to take credit for a revival in the steel industry, which he claimed was largely due to his strong tariff policies.
He stated, “This morning he tried, on behalf of the Dumacrats, to take credit for the Steel Industry pouring back into the U.S., knowing full well that the Dumbs virtually destroyed it, and I SAVED IT, through strong Tariffs (PLUS!). Our Country was DEAD during the last ‘Administration,’ and now it is hotter than ever before.”
Wrapping up his arguments, Trump declared, “We can’t allow the Dumacrats to take credit for this. If elected, they will fully destroy our thriving, and now very respected, Nation. I will NOT let that happen!”
