Emily Compagno signed off from “Outnumbered” on Friday after nearly six years as a permanent co-host.
Her farewell came ahead of a move to Fox News’ “The Five,” where she will take a permanent seat beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. The promotion puts her alongside Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, and Jesse Watters on one of cable news’ most-watched programs.
Compagno addressed viewers directly in her final signoff, expressing gratitude for their trust over the years. “After almost six years, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you at home who trusted me to help deliver and analyze the news every day at noon ET,” she said.
She also credited the team that made the program run each day, naming executive producer Trina Thompson and the broader “Outnumbered” staff. “Their dedication, professionalism, and sheer talent are the reason for this show’s excellence day in and day out,” she said. She closed by teasing her new role with a simple line: “From now on, see you at 5:00.”
As originally reported, Fox News announced the promotion last month as part of a broader shake-up surrounding one of its biggest programs. Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott praised Compagno as a “standout” whose “energy and talent” have made an impression across the network.
Compagno first joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018. She was named a permanent co-host of “Outnumbered” in January 2021, though she had already been appearing regularly on both “Outnumbered” and “The Five” before landing that daytime role.
Her departure from the noon hour leaves a notable vacancy. Fox News said a rotation of network personalities will fill her seat temporarily while the network conducts a search for a permanent replacement.
On “The Five,” Compagno joins a panel that also includes Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov, who rotate in the program’s liberal seat. The show averaged 3.6 million viewers during the second quarter of 2026, according to Nielsen figures released by Fox. It also pulled 322,000 viewers in the 25-to-54 demographic and wrapped its 19th consecutive quarter as the top-rated program in cable news.
When Fox announced the promotion last month, Compagno called it an “incredible privilege.” She added: “I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
Her move from midday to early evening marks a significant step up within the network. “The Five” is widely regarded as one of Fox’s marquee properties, and Compagno will now be among its permanent voices starting next week.
