Bartiromo was one of the network’s most prominent faces. She hosted three programs across Fox News and Fox Business, including Mornings with Maria, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, and Sunday Morning Futures. Her reach across both networks made her exit one of the more significant personnel moves in recent Fox history.

Her attorney, Bryan Freedman, pushed back hard on the characterization that she was fired. He called such claims “absolutely and unequivocally false” and warned that the truth would eventually surface. “Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses,” Freedman said, signaling a potential legal battle ahead.
Constitutionalist commentator Steve Ferguson took to X, the social media platform, to condemn the network’s handling of the situation. Ferguson accused Fox News of siding with the Democratic Party by letting Bartiromo go, calling the move “slimy” and framing it as a betrayal of the pro-Trump audience she had long served.
According to a previous report, Bartiromo had been facing allegations that she shared internal Fox communications related to the network’s editorial decisions around election-related claims made by President Donald Trump.
The Wall Street Journal later reported that Bartiromo was terminated for violating company policy, specifically by passing internal information about Fox’s coverage plans to outside parties. Fox has not publicly confirmed that account as the basis for her dismissal.
Following the announcement, the network revealed the fate of all three of her programs. Mornings with Maria would be rebranded as Mornings with FOX Business. Her Wall Street program would also receive a new name. Sunday Morning Futures would continue but with a different host at the helm.
The firing has drawn sharp reactions across conservative media circles, with critics questioning whether the network’s leadership is shifting its editorial priorities away from its core audience. Fox has not offered any further public comment beyond its initial statement that the two sides had parted ways.
