Iranian hardliners have placed a $10 million bounty on Barron Trump’s head.
The 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump is now living inside what insiders describe as a tight security bubble, rarely leaving and staying largely out of public view. One longtime figure in Trump’s orbit told The New York Post bluntly: “He doesn’t go out.”
Barron recently finished his sophomore year at New York University. He has reportedly spent much of his summer with first lady Melania Trump at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey.
The security concerns surrounding him are not abstract. Iranian hardliners released a video titled “Where to kill Barron Trump,” which claimed to track his movements. The same group reportedly attached the $10 million bounty to his name. Melania Trump has also faced threats from Iranian hardliners, compounding the pressure on the family.
According to a report, the threats against Barron are unfolding against a broader backdrop of political violence targeting the entire first family.
President Trump has survived at least three assassination attempts since July 2024. He was shot and wounded at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Months later, in September of that year, another would-be assassin allegedly tracked him at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Then on April 25 of this year, a gunman attacked the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while the president and first lady were present.
Barron’s situation grew more personal in September 2025 when conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated. Kirk and Barron had developed a close relationship, and the loss hit Barron hard. After learning of Kirk’s death, Barron told his father: “This is what happens when you go out there.”
That exchange was first reported by journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan in their book “Regime Change” and later confirmed by The Post.
The picture that emerges is of a young man whose early adulthood has been reshaped entirely by the security demands placed on his family. College, social life, and normal routines have all been folded into a much smaller, more guarded existence. His response to Kirk’s death suggests he is not simply a passive subject of these security arrangements. He understands the stakes clearly.
For a 20-year-old, that is a heavy thing to carry.
