What's more, Gutfeld! is trouncing other similar programs in the same time slot that have been around for years but have been taken over by very liberal hosts and anchors who don't have many good things to say at all about Republicans and conservatives.
But now, after destroying left-wing comedian Sarah Silverman in ratings after she hosted Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" last week, Gutfeld is offering some advice of sorts. He noted in a tweet after the ratings came out on Friday, "I would love to give Sarah Silverman pointers but the adorable lass blocked me ages ago.”
According to Mediaite:
Fox News’s late-night comedy show, Gutfeld!, brought in 2.2 million total viewers on Tuesday night, beating its lead-in, The Ingraham Angle. Roseanne Barr joined Gutfeld! as a guest.
Gutfeld! was the 6th highest-rated show overall on cable news in total viewers and the 3rd highest-rated in the key 25-54 age demographic — behind Tucker Carlson and The Five — which was co-hosted by Greg Gutfeld.
In the 11 p.m. hour, Gutfled! crushed its cable news competition as CNN brought in only 371,000 total viewers and MSNBC scored 972,000.
Throughout 2022, Nielsen Media Research showed that Gutfeld! averaged 2.1 million viewers, which is astounding, especially for a new late-night show that broke the mold on a news network.
“The size of that viewing audience bests both NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’ and ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and also consistently trumps such cable rivals as Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show’ and HBO’s ‘Last Week Tonight’ and ‘Real Time With Bill Maher,’” the report Mediaite:.
Even Vox, which is known as more of a liberal-leaning media outlet, sang Gutfeld’s praises: “The biggest comedy show on late-night right now is not on ABC or NBC or CBS or Fox. It’s not on Comedy Central. It’s certainly not streaming. It’s on Fox News, and its name is ‘Gutfeld!’”
