Mexico elects Lifelong leftist Claudia Sheinbaum as the next president

Mexico has elected Claudia Sheinbaum, who survived one of the most deadly elections in history, to be the first female leader in over 200 years. She's a 61-year-old lifelong leftist who's apparently very different than President Andres, Mauel Lopez Obrador. It's unclear how well she will do, but it seems like she was popular enough to win the presidency. She's apparently very interested in finding ways to solve inequalities, but she's reportedly more into utilizing data to solve problems. That may sound a little bit better than what the leftists in America are doing, because they clearly have no idea on how to do much of anything here in our own country.

Yahoo News reported on the statistics of the horrifying events surrounding the election, saying the following in a political news article, published just before the election: "Mexico's election is now the bloodiest in its modern history after a candidate running for local office in central Puebla state was murdered on Friday at a political rally, taking the number of assassinated candidates to 37 ahead of Sunday's vote."

Sheinbaum will be tasked with the tough job of fighting crime in Mexico. AP reported on what direction she may go when it comes to that, and that will be one really hard problem to solve for anyone in office. AP's report said:

“Let it be clear, it doesn’t mean an iron fist, wars or authoritarianism,” Sheinbaum said of her approach to tackling criminal gangs, during her final campaign event. “We will promote a strategy of addressing the causes and continue moving toward zero impunity.”

Sheinbaum has praised López Obrador profusely and said little that the president hasn’t said himself. She blamed neoliberal economic policies for condemning millions to poverty, promised a strong welfare state and praised Mexico’s large state-owned oil company, Pemex, while also promising to emphasize clean energy.

“For me, being from the left has to do with that, with guaranteeing the minimum rights to all residents,” Sheinbaum told the AP last year.
