'Not a safe place anymore': 'Happy Days' actor Scott Baio to leave California after 45 years

The 'Happy Days' actor, Scott Baio announced he's leaving California after 45 years, saying it's just 'not a safe place anymore' and he hopes to gain a better quality of life somewhere else. When Baio announced his departure on Twitter, he also included this quote: "The most recent survey conducted by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority found approximately 69,000 people experiencing homelessness in L.A. County and 41,000 in the city in 2022" and suggested the homelessness problem in LA is part of the reason he's leaving and part of the reason he believes it's no longer safe for him or a family to be there.

Baio also said on another tweet that the homelessness problem "brings down property value" and further suggested there that "no consequences for crime that is rampant, making things higher in price and it’s just not a safe place anymore."

Scott Baio played Chachi on 'Happy Days' and also had a role in 'Charles in Charge' but now he hangs out on Twitter and interacts with fans and haters. Fox LA included some more information about Scott Baio, saying the following:

Baio, who is perhaps most famous for playing Chachi on "Happy Days" before starring in "Charles in Charge," said fellow Californians wouldn't "miss his ‘right wing' views."

"Maybe not, but they’ll certainly miss the high taxes I pay!" he replied to a tweet from someone criticizing his move.

Baio has already listed his 5-bedroom, 4.5-bath mansion in Woodland Hills for a cool $3.85 million, according to Realtor.com. He had purchased the home in 2010 for $1.85 million.
