Dem Senator drooling over alleged gang member gets REJECTED
Senator Chris Van Hollen wanted to meet with Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Maryland constituent who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador, during his visit to the country on April 16, 2025 - but was REJECTED. Van Hollen met with El Salvador's Vice President Félix Ulloa, who informed him that he could not authorize an in-person visit or a phone call with Abrego Garcia, who is being held at the Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) prison. Ulloa also stated that earlier arrangements were needed for a prison visit and suggested that the U.S. Embassy might facilitate a phone call, but he could not promise access even if Van Hollen returned the following week. Additionally, posts on X and various news reports confirm that the Salvadoran government rebuffed Van Hollen’s requests, with some indicating he was told to arrange meetings through the Trump administration.
