NY Gave 53% of CDLs to Aliens: Sec. Duffy Could Revoke Their Power to Issue CDLs

Secretary Duffy reiterated what he said recently: after an audit, the federal transportation department found that 53% of commercial driver’s licenses issued to foreigners in New York were issued illegally. He said, “We gave them four months to comply with the law. They refused, so we had no choice but to pull funding—and if they still refuse, we can pull their ability to issue CDLs. They usually give a state 30 days to comply. DOT gave them four months. New York said “pound sand.” As a result, DOT withheld $73 million in federal funds, and there is more funding they can withhold. DOT also found fake CDL schools with no curriculum, no teachers, and no drivers. The applicant pays and gets a certificate. These are great jobs for Americans, and they are being given to illegal aliens and forei
