Athens Mayor faces call to resign after really dumb comments

The Democrat Athens mayor Kelly Girtz is facing calls to resign after his terrible commentary following the murder of Laken Riley at the University of Georgia. She was killed by an illegal immigrant who should not have been in America, but the Democrat Mayor made comments that pretty much no one liked. Protesters gathered to demand his resignation.

Girtz made really bad comments when he said: "I caution against conflating immigration and crime. The data demonstrates that the two are not connected" - except an innocent woman was just killed by an illegal immigrant, so maybe now's not the time to be talking about statistics when you should be condemning the people breaking the law in some of the most horrible ways. Now is NOT the time for your stats or nonsense.
