Ronna McDaniel’s chair for the head of the Republican National Committee (RNC) could be in jeopardy as Mike Lindell, the MyPillow CEO, is considering challenging her for the position. This is what Lindell, who is a staunch supporter of former President Trump and his false claims of 2020 election fraud, said on his FrankSpeech TV platform: “One of the things I will tell you, you know, [we] will never, ever stop to get rid of these machines and make this the best elections in world history in our country. We need someone, everybody, and I’ll step into that if God willing.”

Viewers were asked by Lindell to send him emails about whether they would support him running for the position, while also adding that he wants to hear “anything negative” about it too. McDaniel announced earlier in November that she plans to seek another term. She has been in the position since 2017, and she received endorsements from a majority of RNC voting members recently, reported The Hill.

Lindell also told HuffPost during an interview that McDaniel has not addressed “election integrity,” while also noting that he is frustrated with her acknowledgment of President Biden’s win in 2020. “Everyone I’ve talked to of these state chairs, they need new leadership,” said Lindell. “I don’t know if this is a paid position, nor do I care. I want to help save our country,” he explained.

But a defamation suit from Dominion Voting Systems over unfounded claims about the machines used in 2020 is what Lindell and other close Trump allies are facing right now. “RNC needs to be run like a business,” said Lindell, adding that it is what he knows how to do.

In both houses of Congress, the GOP had hoped to make sweeping gains during the midterm elections in early November. But the fact is that the party failed to win control of the Senate, as they won only a narrow majority in the House.  So for the party’s disappointing performance, Republican leaders, such as Trump and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), have received the blame.

Another candidate who is considering running for the RNC chair is outgoing Rep. Lee Zeldin (N.Y.). He already mounted a failed challenge to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) this year.
