Crocus City Hall on fire following attack, dozens of casualties

If you’ve been away from the news all day, then this is not the story you want to read about happening anywhere or any place on the planet. Crocus City Hall concert venue in Russia is on fire following an attack where armed assailants entered the building and opened fire on people.

What happened in Moscow at the Crocus City Hall? Armed assailants went into the building, fired weapons at people. The assailants also threw explosives which is likely the reason the concert hall caught on fire with the massive flames caught on video. This happened just a few days after Russian President Vladimir Putin won his election, holding onto power. Some reports, as of now, say up to 40 people are reported dead and dozens more injured. What about the attackers? AP reported the following, as of now – and keep in mind this information could change throughout the night or weekend:

It wasn’t immediately clear what happened to the attackers, and there were no immediate claims of responsibility for the raid, which Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin described as a “huge tragedy” and state authorities were investigating as terrorism. The attack, which left the concert hall in flames with a collapsing roof, was the deadliest in Russia in years and came as the country’s war in Ukraine dragged into a third year.

It’s unclear what Russia will do next at the time this was published. The video above shows the Crocus City Hall venue on fire. There are multiple videos of the shooting incident, but I know you’ll end up seeing it on social media so I didn’t share it here.

UPDATE: Reports say ISIS is claiming responsibility for the attack in Moscow, Russia. Another report/video going around says one of the terrorists is a former Ukraine military guy. Seems like no one is really believing the ISIS bit. It’s my opinion that Putin is going to do some serious damage in retaliation after Russia gets to the bottom of this.
