George E. Johnson Sr., founder of Johnson Products Company, has died at the age of 99.
He built the company behind Afro Sheen and Ultra Sheen, brands created for Black consumers.
Johnson Products became the first Black-owned business listed on the American Stock Exchange.
The company was also the first national sponsor of the television program Soul Train.
His family remembered him as a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and devoted family man.
