Prosecutors may have enough to charge Hunter Biden, but there’s a catch: report

Reports now suggest that federal prosecutors have enough information and/or evidence in order to charge Hunter Biden with numerous crimes tied to his taxes and potentially telling lies to investigators about a firearm purchase that allegedly took place years ago. This report twas published by the Washington Post, which surprised many people who believe the publication caters toward left-wing journalism.

The WaPo report says federal agents investigated months ago and believe they have a potential criminal case against Hunter Biden, 52. However, there’s a catch. The federal agents do not have the ability to file the criminal charges. The only person who can file those criminal charges, at this point, appear to be the US Attorney in Delaware and it remains unclear if they will proceed with that. The attorney,David C. Weiss, is reportedly from former President Donald Trump’s administration, and while it seems unclear at this point – the chances might be stacked against Joe Biden’s son.

The prosecutor has options. Weiss can prosecute, make a deal, or hold off for “bigger fish to catch” which could mean Hunter Biden evades charges entirely.

Hunter Biden’s attorney, Chris Clark, suggested that if a federal agent gave information to the Washington Post, then they might have committed a felony themselves. Clark stated, according to Daily Wire: “It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one. Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony. We expect the Department of Justice will diligently investigate and prosecute such bad actors. As is proper and legally required, we believe the prosecutors in this case are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses in this case, including witnesses for the defense. That is the job of the prosecutors. They should not be pressured, rushed, or criticized for doing their job.”

This is an ongoing story.
