228 busted in human trafficking sting, 21 are illegal immigrants

228 people have been arrested in a huge human trafficking sting in Florida, with 21 of the people arrested are illegal immigrants. At least 13 possible victims were also identified in the sting, bringing some justice to those victims while making big moves to lock up the people who do harm. NY Post reported on the human trafficking sting in Florida.

Some of the incidents that were reported shine a light on some otherwise good people in the community who obviously made some big mistakes. The report by NY Post continued:

One suspect who was trying to pay $150 to have sex with a woman told authorities that he was a volleyball coach from New York who tutored middle school students, Judd said. Another man arrested was a math and science teacher at New Beginnings High School in Auburndale, according to Judd.

“He came to have sex. He called it a quick visit for $60,” Judd told reporters. “Well, since he’s able to teach math, he can figure out that it didn’t add up this time.”

Another part of the NY Post story shows how some teenagers showed up in ski masks attempted to rob a prostitute, but the prostitute ended up being an undercover agent who busted them. See here:

A former detention deputy with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was also arrested.

“Dude, what are you doing?” Judd asked. “You went from being a stellar employee to committing moral crimes, and it’s two in a month. He said, ‘I got a problem.’ No kidding. You’ve got a big problem.”

Two brothers, ages 16 and 17, were arrested after showing up to the bust armed with a BB gun and wearing ski masks and hoodies to commit an armed robbery against a detective posing as a prostitute they met online, Judd said.
