“Totally Compromised”: Trump Unloads on Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis after Romantic Relationship Accusations Surface

Former President Donald Trump went on the attack against Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis after accusations emerged that Willis was in an improper, romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor from a private firm that she hired for the case.

As background, accusation was brought a co-defendant in the case. According to that co-defendant, Willis and Wade were in a romantic relationship despite their professional relationship and used that relationship to improperly benefit financially. Specifically, the co-defendant alleges that they took two vacations together using funds that Wade’s law firm received from Willis’s office for his work on the case.

That co-defendant is Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official. In the court filing, his legal team “moves this Honorable Court for an order striking the special purpose grand jury report and dismissing the criminal indictment in its entirety against Mr. Roman on the grounds that the entire prosecution is invalid and unconstitutional because the Fulton County district attorney never had legal authority to appoint the special prosecutor, who assisted in obtaining both grand jury indictments.”

Continuing, Mr. Roman’s legal team added, “As a result, both indictments contain structural errors and irreparable defects and should be dismissed in their entirety as to Mr. Roman. Mr. Roman also moves the Court for an order disqualifying the district attorney, her office, and the special prosecutor from further prosecuting the instant matter on the grounds that the district attorney and the special prosecutor have been engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case, which has resulted in the special prosecutor, and, in turn, the district attorney, profiting significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers.”

His legal team then went on to argue, “Accordingly, the district attorney and the special prosecutor have violated laws regulating the use of public monies, suffer from irreparable conflicts of interest, and have violated their oaths of office under the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disqualified from prosecuting this matter.”

Trump, who has pleaded “not guilty” to all charges brought against him by Fani Willis, said, “You had a very big event yesterday as you saw in Georgia where the district attorney is totally compromised. The case has to be dropped,”

Continuing, during his comments on the case to reports in DC, Trump then said that the case is “totally compromised.” Making that point, he told them, “They went after 18 or 20 people. … She was out of her mind. Now it turns out that case is totally compromised.”

Trump then said that, while he would “let the state handle” the allegations against Willis and Wade, he sees what they did as being “illegal.” He said, “It’s illegal. What she did is illegal. So we’ll let the state handle that, but what a sad situation it is.”

Trump posted about the situation on Truth Social as well. In the brief post about the matter, he said, “NEW COURT FILING ALLEGES FULTON COUNTY DA HIRED HER ROMANTIC PARTNER TO PROSECUTE TRUMP CASE”
