Democrat Roy Cooper RAN when asked why he supports MALES in women's sports

Roy Cooper was confronted on why he supports men being in women's sports, completely ruining the sport. And instead of answering, he ran to the car and took off.

Former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s stance on transgender athletes has become a central focus of political debate.

Cooper, a Democrat, has consistently opposed broad state bans on transgender women and girls participating in female sports, arguing that such decisions should be made by parents, schools, and athletic organizations rather than politicians.

During his time as governor, Cooper vetoed House Bill 574, also known as the "Fairness in Women’s Sports Act," which prohibited transgender females from competing on school and college sports teams that align with their gender identity.

Cooper characterized the bill as a "solution in search of a problem" and part of a "triple threat of political culture wars" that could damage the state’s reputation and economy. Despite his veto, the Republican-led General Assembly overrode it in August 2023, making the ban law. As of late 2025, Republican groups have launched major advertising campaigns highlighting Cooper’s record on these issues.

These advertisements, which have appeared in the context of both the 2024 presidential campaign and anticipated 2026 races, attack Cooper for his vetoes of sports bans and gender-affirming care legislation. Critics and political opponents have used these vetoes to claim that Cooper supports "radical gender ideology," which is obvious that he does because he wouldn't even answer a question on it. People like Roy Cooper are ruining America.
