Black Lives Matter Birmingham AL co-founder who called all police officers “violent”, “racist”, “killers” has just been arrested for domestic violence assault. Cops love slapping handcuffs on these grifters. Eric Hall, a prominent Birmingham activist and co founder of the city’s Black Lives Matter chapter, was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Hall, who is 43 years old, was booked into the Birmingham City Jail on the night of December 16, 2025. The specific charge filed against him is a misdemeanor for domestic assault simple assault family.

This arrest followed a period of heightened public visibility for Hall, who had recently run for a seat on the Birmingham Board of Education and co signed an open letter critical of local policing practices.

Following his release, Hall spoke publicly to provide his account of the events that led to the police being called to his residence. He stated that the incident began when he attempted to assist a friend who was staying with him and suffering from a mental health episode while intoxicated.

Hall claimed that he contacted law enforcement with the expectation that his friend would be taken to a mental health or crisis facility for professional help. Instead, Hall alleged that he was taken into custody after police observed bruises on the other individual, which Hall explained were the result of his efforts to safely restrain the man until authorities arrived.

The arrest has also served as a catalyst for Hall to speak out against the living conditions he witnessed while inside the Birmingham City Jail. He described the facility as overcrowded and unsanitary, highlighting a lack of basic hygiene resources that forced some inmates to use toilet water to wash themselves.

In response to these observations, Hall and the Birmingham Black Lives Matter chapter took immediate action by paying the bail for several individuals who were being held because they could not afford to post bond. As of late 2025, the misdemeanor charge against Hall remains under review by the legal system
