Nearly all of the 4,500 refugees who have arrived in America in the last few months are Afrikaners, or white South Africans. They are fleeing a country that routinely discriminates against, harasses, and even kills Afrikaners. Unlike many others, they have a legitimate claim to asylum and refugee status. This situation has caused considerable consternation on the Left, who tend to favor, um, only ‘certain types’ of refugees. The Afrikaners, who include women and children, often arrive waving American flags, and they are more likely to assimilate into our culture rather than cause harm to others. And, of course, they’re white. However, there is a reason why thousands more Afrikaners are not coming to America: they do not want to leave their beloved dogs behind. Dogs stop thousands of Afrik
