His crime was to hang British flags on lamp posts and public buildings. The leader, Ryan Bridge, was arrested on allegations of harassment. He and his group were hanging national flags in public. His group did so in defiance of the local Oxfordshire County Council’s orders. It sounds like a peaceful protest. Thames Valley police arrested Bridge on Tuesday “on suspicion of causing racially and religiously aggravated harassment, alarm, or distress.” He runs a campaign flying Union Jacks and St. George’s flags in Oxfordshire.
