Dem Rep Jahana Hayes REGRETS voting for Laken Riley Act

Rep. Jahana Hayes (D-CT) has expressed regret for voting in favor of the Laken Riley Act. During a CNN town hall on April 10, 2025, she stated, "As I’ve thought about it over the last couple of months, I probably would have voted differently. It’s a vote that I regret." She cited concerns about the bill’s impact on legal immigrants and due process, as well as her disappointment with the Trump administration’s rhetoric and approach to immigration, which she initially trusted would involve bipartisan cooperation.
