Hooters is closing 44 locations in 14 states. These stores are underperforming thanks to the "current market conditions" that make it harder to turn a profit without going crazy on price increases and all that nonsense. Penn Live reported on the Hooters closures:

The restaurant chain Hooters announced earlier this week that it plans to close at least 44 “underperforming” locations in 14 states due to what the company calls " pressure from current market conditions.”

The company did not specify which locations would be closing or when, but CNN and USA Today reported that it will close restaurants in Florida, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.
