Rubio's restaurant closing 48 locations in CA

Looks like building back better didn't work out like Joe Biden said it would.  Rubio's Coastal Grill, known for the "original fish taco", announced they are closing 48 locations in California and filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. This is the second time they've had to file for bankruptcy in the last four years. They are blaming the closures on the rising costs of business in California, as reported on KCRA:

Rubio's Coastal Grill, a food chain restaurant priding itself as the home of the original fish taco, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The filing on Wednesday comes days after the food chain said it would close 48 locations in California, including restaurants in Elk Grove, Lodi, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento, Stockton and Tracy.

Two locations were also abruptly closed in El Dorado Hills and Folsom.

Rubio’s said it would enter a court-supervised sale process which its expects to be completed within 75 days.

The company is seeking court approval to continue operations at 86 other restaurants during the sale process.
