What happened to Matthew Perry?

Actor Matthew Perry has died at age 54 in what is reported as a possible drowning. This took place in his LA-area home on Saturday and was reported by TMZ and many other news outlets. Perry is best known as Chandler Bing from the hit show 'Friends' and he was basically in every episode there was. He was one of the biggest stars of the show and a huge fan favorite.

The initial reports say he was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi and no drugs were found at the scene. Fans from all over the world are pouring in with their respects, as they're shocked at what happened.

Warner Bros. issued a statement about Matthew Perry, saying the following as reported by:

“We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family. The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans."

The celebrity news article about Matthew Perry's passing on the People website also stated the following:

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE that officers responded to a call at Perry's address regarding the death of a male in his 50s, but would not confirm the deceased's identity.

TMZ reported that sources said there was no foul play involved and first responders were called to the residence for cardiac arrest.
