"Did you hear the question, Senator?": Mitch McConnell freezes, appears to stare into space

Senator Mitch McConnell suffered another bad speaking moment when he appeared to freeze while taking questions and then stared into space. A woman next to him is asking if he's heard the question, then says they're going to need a minute. It seems very clear that Mitch McConnell is struggling and should probably retire and just relax, take care of himself, and move on from politics.
