'I'm too big to fit': Woman says it's discrimination that airlines don't make wider aisles in planes

TikToker "Big Curvy Olivia" shared a video showing her difficulty navigating the narrow plane walkway, which has sparked fierce discussion online.

She said: "Honestly, it's discrimination that they can't build wider aisles in airplanes in 2023."

Olivia can be seen walking down a plane aisle, but as she reaches the first row of seats, she's unable to fit into the narrow walkway.

She was forced to twist her body to the side in order to make her way through the aisles.

But many viewers of Olivia's video disagreed, and thought her accusation of airline discrimination towards bigger passengers couldn't be supported.

Another follower commented: "The problem is not the aisles..."

One TikToker replied: "Those aisles are plenty wide, I’ve seen people squeeze past flight attendants carrying drinks during boarding."

Many pointed out that widening the aisles wasn't in the best interest of the airlines, as they can fit more passengers with less aisle space.

Someone said: "Wider aisles mean less seats. And they would be cutting into profits to accommodate the super sized. That wouldn’t make sense."

One woman just asked: "How is that discrimination?"
