Fox News beats CNN and MSNBC in ratings combined

Fox News once again dominated the media competition, this time beating both CNN and MSNBC’s numbers combined. The November ratings were again topped by Fox News across dayparts and key demos, but MSNBC and CNN posted gains as the midterms dominated coverage. In primetime, Fox News averaged 2.44 million total viewers, which is down 6% from the same month a year earlier. MSNBC averaged 1.2 million viewers, which is up 10%. CNN averaged 749,000, which is up 14%.

As for the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 356,000, which is down 16%. MSNBC posted 148,000, which is up 4%. CNN averaged 190,000, which is up 26%. In total day, Fox News averaged 1.57 million, which is up 1%. MSNBC posted 752,000, which is up 13%. CNN posted 560,000, which is up 12%.

In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 227,000 viewers, which is down 16%. MSNBC had 93,000, which is up 16%. CNN got 124,000, which is up 13%. Fox News’ numbers were more than both MSNBC and CNN combined.

The top five cable news shows, also went to Fox News, as ‘The Five’ topped total viewers, averaging 3.7 million, followed by ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ with 3.5 million, ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ at 3.17 million, ‘Hannity’ with 3.08 million and ‘Special Report with Bret Baier’ at 2.8 million.

Adults 25-54 was topped by ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ averaging 506,000, which was followed by ‘The Five’ with 466,000, then ‘Hannity’ at 428,000, followed by ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ at 405,000 and ‘Gutfeld!’ with 397,000.

‘Gutfeld!’ had its highest rated month since it launched last year, averaging 2.3 million viewers, the network noted while saying that its election night coverage drew 7.4 million total viewers and 1.9 million in the 25-54 demo, topping other broadcast and cable networks.
