'CNN This Morning' crashing and burning as co-host threatens to quit, move away: report
It looks like CNN CEO Chris Licht's handpicked morning show line-up isn't working out like he planned, if a report published on Thursday is accurate. According to Radar Online, co-host Kaitlin Collins is threatening to quit the show and move back to Washington, D.C., from New York City because she's sick and tired of "frenemy" Don Lemon. The outlet noted:
Collins, to be sure, is talented and doesn't really need to suffer Lemon. Plus, she is young enough she can literally start anew somewhere else and make a career out of it. Just last week, according to the New York Post, the network made some more big-time changes to “CNN This Morning,” bringing in two new experienced executive producers in the latest “shakeup.” The report said:
According to sources who spoke to RadarOnline recently, Lemon’s co-hosts, Kaitlin Collins and Poppy Harlow, appear to have had just about enough of him.
RadarOnline.com has learned that Kaitlan Collins, 30, had private conversations about returning to Washington, D.C., leaving her on-air frenemy Don Lemon, 57, and Poppy Harlow, 40, in the dust. The revelation comes three months after Lemon blew up on Collins, "screaming" and accusing her of "interrupting" him after their December 8 broadcast. His outburst left Collins "visibly upset" and staffers who witnessed the altercation "shaken." She is said to want to work with Lemon as little as possible. Collins — the youngest chief White House correspondent in CNN's history — distanced herself more by dropping her United Talent Agency agent, Jay Sures, who also represents Don. Lemon and Collins never repaired their relationship after Don's temper tantrum. As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Lemon had a second blowup after discovering his argument with his much younger co-anchor was highlighted in the company newsletter.

Longtime CNN producer Lauren Mensch and Chris Russell, who recently was the executive producer for NewsNation’s “On Balance with Leland Vittert,” will grab the reins from Eric Hall, according to the cable news network. The moves come amid a flurry of bad publicity for Lemon.
