Kevin McCarthy allies target Matt Gaetz, could be plotting political revenge
A tiny portion of GOP members who were close to ousted Kevin McCarthy are now targeting fellow Republican Matt Gaetz, the Florida rep who lead the way to get Kevin McCarthy removed as Speaker of the House. Several others may believe removing Kevin McCarthy required teaming up with Democrats and they were vocal about it, insulting Matt Gaetz on a personal level. Those bitter about the removal of Kevin McCarthy, who many believed to be a RINO, are now calling the 8 Republicans who voted against him a RINO too.
Are the allies of Kevin McCarthy plotting political revenge? They could be after this spat. It's like RINOS calling other Republicans RINOS - reminds me of the Spider-man meme where several Spider-mans are pointing at each other. The Hill covered the Matt Gaetz situation, reporting the following in a political news article:
However, the Republicans who went on CNN should probably rethink their career if they're going on CNN to talk poorly of other Republicans. They actually fell for the CNN trick of getting Republicans to talk bad about themselves in hopes CNN ratings go up. They don't care what the Republicans are saying about each other, it's just there for ratings.
D'Esposito fell for the oldest media trick in the book - get the other guys to talk bad about each other and get the drama on the air asap.

“Matt Gaetz just got schooled by AOC and others; he was totally manipulated into doing this,” Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.), a close McCarthy ally, told reporters Wednesday. “There were eight so-called Republicans that got together with 208 Democrats to oust the Republican Speaker.”
“I can’t believe he’s that stupid to be used, to be manipulated by AOC and others to create this outcome,” he added.
Rep. Anthony D’Esposito (R-N.Y.) said Gaetz’s move to eject McCarthy from the Speakership amounted to “one of the greatest acts of heresy.”
“He’s literally taken one of our oldest institutions and put it into a downward spiral, all over selfish needs, all over Twitter feeds and raising money,” D’Esposito said during an interview on CNN.
