UPDATE 10/3/23: There was no mystery to this. A tweet by one of her associates was posted on Twitter to further explain what happened:

UPDATE FROM LEAD STORIES who reported further information on Katie Hobbs stepping down for a day and attending an out of state meeting:

Hobbs left Arizona for a meeting in Washington, D.C., on September 27, 2023, according to her press secretary Christian Slater. He tweeted about her absence from the state, writing: "I can't believe this has to be explained but: Hobbs didn't disappear. She was in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday for a meeting about border issues with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas."

Arizona's Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs has stepped down and placed State Treasurer Kimberly Yee in control for about one day.

Kimberly Yee shared the news on X when she posted something to her followers saying she's stepping into the role of Governor for the time being while Katie Hobbs stepped down for nearly a day. Yee said: "While I am pleased to step into this role, I will refrain from naming directors to the 13 agencies that currently have vacancies and will not call the Arizona Legislature into session to confirm them... That being said, I do hope when the Governor returns to Arizona, she will promptly name qualified directors to these important state agencies."

There isn't much else to the story about Katie Hobbs stepping down. Frank posted a copy of the press release on X:

In other news related to Katie Hobbs, there was a popular news video going around about the Democratic governor. The video showed Katie Hobbs being booed in a golf course in her own state of Arizona.
