Texas airline worker sucked into jet engine: report

A tragic incident occurred at San Antonio International Airport where an airport worker lost their life after being pulled into a Delta Air Lines jet engine. The emergency responders were alerted around 10:25 p.m. on Friday night, as reported by KENS5.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated that the aircraft had recently arrived from Los Angeles and had only one engine operational when the accident occurred. The NTSB is currently gathering information and has been in contact with Delta Airlines regarding the incident, said Fox5 Atlanta.

The deceased worker was an employee of Unifi Aviation, a company contracted by Delta and other airlines for ground handling operations. Delta Airlines expressed its full cooperation in the investigations surrounding the incident.

Unifi Aviation issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the loss of their employee at San Antonio International Airport. The company's thoughts are with the deceased worker's family, and they are providing support to their ground staff during this difficult time. Unifi Aviation stated that, based on their initial investigation, the incident was unrelated to their operational processes, safety procedures, and policies. Out of respect for the deceased, no additional information will be shared, deferring to the ongoing investigation conducted by the authorities.
