'I don't ever want to be thin': Lizzo considered 'quitting' music over fat-shaming trolls

Lizzo suggested that she might consider quitting music because of the non-stop fat shaming she receives from trolls on social media. The overweight singer shared a screenshot of someone mocking her body weight and she added: "I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of s–t I see about me on a daily basis."

Lizzo further said: "It’s really starting to make me hate the world... Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bulls–t."

The obese performer continued in another tweet: "The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media… all because I’m fat????” and “Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F–KING FARM…” - all quoted by Billboard because Lizzo's tweets are protected and only followers can see them.

The farm comment did not go over very well as trolls jumped on that very quickly, making cow and moooooo jokes alike. Lizzo has been under constant criticism because of her weight and how she dresses in very revealing outfits, which many people cringe at and say is repulsive because of how big she is.

The music article on Billboard reported on Lizzo's fat-shaming situation:

“I literally NEVER search my name this stuff just comes up on my TL & my FYP it’s wild,” the star also tweeted Wednesday. “I swear I just wanna look at dance videos and science news and this s–t comes in every day…”

A couple weeks prior, Lizzo had leveled with fans on TikTok about how a lot of people assume that she works out and eats healthy merely to lose weight, or “escape fatness,” as she put it. “As I got more professional in my career, I started to take the physical part more seriously,” she explained in the May 15 video. “I’ve always loved moving my body, I’ve always loved working out.”

“I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they are doing is trying to be thin,” she added at the time. “I’m not trying to be thin, I don’t ever want to be thin.”

Lizzo was criticized a few years ago when she appeared during a television interview on CBS this Morning and her chair had bigger wheels than the other guests or hosts. People also said her shirt looked like a blanket. It seems like Lizzo has to make a choice. Quit music, lose weight, or continue dealing with trolls because trolls are always present on the Internet and will not ever go away.

I visualize Piggy Lizzy in a farrowing pen on the farm to protect her little piglets from being crushed when she rolls over on them.

when shes about 45 shes gonna be in so much pain from being so large and from pressure she puts on her body by being on stage. Actually will probably be sooner. then and only then will she realize how bad it is to be obese.
