Matt Gaetz helps drive another dagger into CNN
CNN ratings took another dip and it's partly because of Republican Matt Gaetz who was guest-hosting a show on Newsmax during a primetime slot. Gaetz was sitting in for Greg Kelly during a 10pm show and Gaetz was able to attain an audience of 282,000 viewers while CNN's show at the same time took a loss. It was CNN's Anderson Cooper who could only muster about 249,000 viewers, losing to Matt Gaetz by about 33,000 viewers.
It's almost like CNN can't keep up as they continue to struggle with ratings and shakeups with their staffers and stars. Newsmax has topped CNN ratings a few times in recent history, which is interesting considering how many networks are reaching for ratings and that Newsmax is one of the smaller networks in comparison to titans like Fox News and CNN. NY Post reported on the recent failings of CNN and their dipping ratings in a news article about it, talking about other Newsmax hosts who've had similar success, but also how Gaetz did manage to lose to them in at least one demographic:
If Matt Gaetz stops working in politics, then there's thoughts that he may join a news network or continue working on a podcast. His future as a Republican Rep is unclear depending on how his performance is and what happens with the 2024 election.
If a Republican wins the presidency, will Matt Gaetz be given a position under the new leader of America? Or will Matt Gaetz continue his role as a representative? Or will he eventually exit politics for a job in the media? All things to be considered.

CNN did manage to eke out a win on Friday over Gaetz in the key 25-54 age demographic, with 41,000 viewers to Newsmax’s 38,000.
Both networks lagged far behind the programs aired at 10 p.m. by rivals Fox News and MSNBC.
“The Ingraham Angle” logged 1.2 million viewers and 106,000 demo viewers for Fox, while “Deadline White House” drew 922,000 and 83,000 on MSNBC.
Newsmax turned to Gaetz again Monday night, but those ratings were not yet available.
