Alabama Gov. bans biological men from women's college sports, 'corrects' ESPN's 'woke' tweet

Alabama's Gov. Ivey has turned things up a notch in hopes to protect women's sports at the college level, banning transgender women from competing or participating on female sports teams at the collegiate level. This takes place after a PENN swimmer who was previously on the men's team decided to switch to the women's team and broke a lot of records, causing people to say it's unfair and demand action against men who claim to be women so they can compete in women's sports.

ESPN reported on the ruling in a 'woke' way and Gov. Ivey snapped back victoriously. ESPN said in a tweet: "Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed legislation on Tuesday that will ban transgender women from playing on female sports teams in college. This expands the state’s existing ban on transgender athletes on K-12 sports teams."

Ivey responded by saying: "Let me fix that, @espn *Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed legislation on Tuesday that will ban biological MEN from playing on FEMALE sports teams in college. #alpolitics"

Alabama's Gov. Kay Ivey signed legislation that bans transgender women, who are biological males, from competing in women's college sports. This is just another state on the growing list who is placing restrictions and permitting only real women to compete against each other or other restrictions. Gov. Ivey said: "look, if you are a biological male, you are not going to be competing in women’s and girls’ sports in Alabama. It’s about fairness, plain and simple," as quoted in a news and politics report by AP. The report further discussed the legislation signed by Ivey:

The legislation expands the state’s existing 2021 ban on transgender athletes on K-12 sports teams to include college teams. Students assigned one sex at birth would be prohibited from playing under a different gender identity, even after undergoing hormone treatment.

The bill is part of a wave of restrictions on transgender people being pushed in conservative states. At least 20 states have now imposed restrictions on transgender athletes at the K-12 or collegiate level, or both. While supporters say transgender women have an unfair advantage in competition, opponents say the bills are about shaming transgender people and are rooted in discrimination and politics.

Alabama lawmakers approved bills restricting bathroom and locker room usage and a ban on the use of gender-affirming hormones and puberty blockers to treat transgender minors. A judge has temporarily blocked the medication ban from taking effect while a court challenge goes forward.

The sports bill had overwhelming support in the Alabama Senate with a vote of 26-4, then also a lot of support in the House of Representatives where the vote was 83-5. It appears as though Democrats, mainly progressives, are allowing women to be erased by allowing biological males into their competitions, sports, and spaces. Women appear to be scared to push back and feminists are nowhere to be found when it comes to defending women.
