Chick-fil-A faces 'Bud Light' treatment after conservatives find out who's working there
Conservatives are demanding a boycott of Chick-fil-A after finding out the chicken eatery has a vice president of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), despite having a Christian background and religious roots that may have donated money to places deemed anti-LGBT. The vice president of DEI is Erick McReynolds, but he's been with DEI since 2020, so it's unclear if conservatives just didn't know Chick-fil-A had a DEI, or if they're just now giving the fast-food chain the 'Bud Light' treatment to make a point.
The Hill reported on Chick-fil-A and the DEI, suggesting the following:
The Hill quoted McReynolds who claimed that having DEI is important to the company's corporate purpose, but many people disagreed with him. He said: "Chick-fil-A restaurants have long been recognized as a place where people know they will be treated well. Modeling care for others starts in the restaurant, and we are committed to ensuring mutual respect, understanding and dignity everywhere we do business."
It remains to be seen if a boycott of Chick-fil-A will take place. The fast food chain is known for having the orders right and friendly customer service, even though the food is very basic in flavor and has become more expensive. For example, the chicken tenders are often very small and over priced. The chicken sandwich is just a piece of chicken on a bun with a pickle or two, so it's really confusing why this place is so popular when the food is not that great.

Loosely defined, DEI is a variable set of principles that organizations and companies are increasingly incorporating in their work environments. As explained by job resource outlet Indeed, DEI “is often used to describe the programs and initiatives a company has in place to improve those areas.”
DEI actions can include actions like hiring more diverse employees, making pay more equal, and including training for non-minority employees on how to support their minority colleagues, for instance. The principles have been criticized by many conservatives in recent years.
