“I need to protect the border”: GOP defies Biden, blocks disastrous bill

The GOP is defying President Joe Biden in an effort to stop the migration flood and failures during the 2024 election campaign. Republican leaders are being pressured by Democrats and their allies in the media to endorse a $14 billion slush fund which will be used to accelerate the inflow of migrants, but instead of supporting that – the GOP is of course blocking it, as per House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and other GOP leaders.

Johnson told CNN host Jake Tapper on January 3 that what the White House is proposing is more money to process and that it will allow more illegals into the country. “We need to do the opposite of that,” added Johnson one day after Biden talked to reporters about his “Emergency Supplemental” funding request, saying: “They ought to give me the money, I need to protect the border.”

But the public doesn’t know much about the fight over this funding as it is hidden because of the media’s poor coverage of Senate negotiations on border reforms and dramatic demands for aid to embattled Ukraine and Israel, but the Democrats are forced to step up their demands for the $14 billion, as the negotiations have been stalled amid the Democrats’ determination to protect their “parole” backdoor at the border. The funding request was detailed in August, which includes at least $5.3 billion to expand migration.

With the funds and the requested authority to transfer yet more funds, the intent is to operate the network of quasi-government non-profits that will help in transporting and sheltering migrants in many cities around the nation, new “Safe Mobility Offices” in Ecuador and other countries that are intended to help more migrants reach the U.S. border. which would cost $800 million to operate, according to Breitbart.

Additional funding, separate from regular budgets, is proposed to address the migrant surge under President Biden. Years of prior funding enabled the establishment of a widespread aid network for migrants, managed by NGOs like Catholic Charities. However, the system is strained in 2023-2024, leading to challenges such as encampments in Mexico, budget cuts in New York, voter protests in Chicago, and migrant tents in Denver. The proposed funding aims to alleviate these issues.

Jessica Vaughan, founder of the Immigration Accountability Project said that the $14 billion bill is intended to quietly smuggle 2024 migrants through the country and to pay off cooperation by Democrat-run cities, saying that there is not enough money, even in those $14 billion, while also adding her concern about how will this affect suburban neighborhoods.

“I think it’s going to have a huge impact on suburban America,” said Vaughan. But small towns are also being affected by the damage from Biden’s migration so Democrats are stepping up their demands for migration funding. Democrat Gov. Maura Healey of Massachusetts told the New York Times that states like Massachusetts are in desperate need of more support from the federal government to address this historic surge in migrant arrivals, adding that “we need Congress to act on President Biden’s budget that includes critical funding for border security and cities and states like ours.” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) told CNN that the $14 billion right now will help those cities that are struggling.

But there is yet no information from the White House officials and senators who are negotiating a border deal about how much funding they will give to Biden’s deputies in 2024, however, the evidence suggests that the Republican senators will not be able to get a deal acceptable to the GOP. However, numerous GOP leaders comprehend the intended use of the funds by President Biden and his deputies.

When it comes to Joe Biden, one of his recent speeches had times where his speech made little to no sense, but somehow people thought he was coherent enough to run America. The Joe Biden word salad video is something special, like a page out of Kamala Harris’ book.
