Arkansas teacher sentenced to jail for sex crime with student

A high school teacher in Arkansas was sentenced to prison for sex crimes she committed with a male high school student. Heather Hare was sentenced to 13 years and 20 years, to be served concurrently, in a Saline County Circuit Court. She was teaching at Bryant High School where she met a high school senior.

She was providing one-on-one counseling, gave him her number, and kept in touch with him on Instagram and Snapchat. At some point, that escalated into her having sexual relations with him between 20-30 times during the 2021-2022 school year - and at many different locations too.

Some of those locations were the car, the classroom, the parking lot at school, school trips, and even her home as reported in a crime news story by KATV. The report also said:

Hare pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of interstate/foreign travel for prostitution/sexual activity by coercion and one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Hare also pleaded guilty in Saline County Circuit court to two charges of sexual assault in the first degree, both related to sexual activity with a Bryant High School student.
