American Airlines says blaming 9yo girl for being recorded by employee was an ERROR

American Airlines is backtracking after a report blamed a 9-year-old girl after one of their pervert employees was caught recording people in an airplane bathroom. He taped his cell phone to a toilet and was recording people who went in the bathroom, even so stupid to leave the light on his camera shining. The early reports said the young girl was negligent, essentially blaming her for being recorded using a toilet, but now the reports are being updated and American Airlines is saying that's all an error. NBC Boston reported this at first:

A troubling discovery last September on a Boston-bound plane received an unexpected response from American Airlines in a legal filing. In an effort to not be held financially liable in a civil lawsuit in Texas, attorneys for American Airlines appeared to blame a 9-year-old girl for allowing herself to be secretly recorded by a flight attendant's phone in an airplane bathroom. In a filing this week, the airline's attorneys say the harm to the child was caused by her “own fault and negligence,” and by her “use of the compromised lavatory, which she knew or should have known contained a visible and illuminated recording device.”

Obviously, the mother was upset, and so was anyone who read this because clearly the child is not to blame - the pervert is the only one who should be blamed for his own deviant actions and crimes. American Airlines released a new statement that denounced the legal filing. It said, as reported by NBC Boston:

"Our outside legal counsel retained with our insurance company made an error in this filing. The included defense is not representative of our airline and we have directed it be amended this morning. We do not believe this child is at fault and we take the allegations involving a former team member very seriously. Our core mission is to care for people — and the foundation of that is the safety and security of our customers and team."

What was the crime on the American Airlines plane? A male flight attendant named Estes Thompson III, 37, told a girl to use a specific bathroom and even escorted her to it. She was 14. He told the girl, according to her story, that he said he needed to go in first and wash his hands, and that the toilet lid was broken. That's where he hid his iphone with the camera recording. His phone was under a sticker that was on the lid. The girl noticed it, took a picture of his phone, and I guess that's how the feds busted him. NBC Boston reported further on the American Airlines pervert flight attendant, saying the following:

When federal authorities got involved, they allegedly found videos on Thompson’s phone of four other girls -- ages 7, 9, 11 and 14 -- as well as dozens of photos of a 9-year-old unaccompanied minor. Thompson, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested in January in Lynchburg, Virginia, and indicted last month. On Monday, he pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual exploitation and possession of images of child sexual abuse in federal court in Boston. He’s being held without bail on those charges.
