Ron DeSantis takes stand against the World Economic Forum elites

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has officially slammed the World Economic Forum (WEF) by saying that "Their vision is, they run everything and everybody else is just like a serf, like a peasant."  The World Economic Forum is an international organization that engages leaders in business, politics, academia, and civil society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. It is best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where business leaders, international political leaders, economists, and other experts gather to discuss pressing issues facing the world. The organization was founded in 1971 by Klaus Schwab and is headquartered in Cologny, Switzerland.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) invites a diverse group of leaders from various sectors and industries to participate in its annual meeting and other events throughout the year. The WEF states that its members include "over 3,000 member companies, as well as other stakeholders from the academic, political, and NGO communities."

The annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland is the WEF's most high-profile event, and it typically attracts around 2,500 participants from around the world. The attendees include:

  • Business leaders, including CEOs of major corporations
  • Heads of international organizations
  • Social entrepreneurs and civil society leaders
