John Oliver offers Clarence Thomas a payout to leave Supreme Court

I'm pretty sure bribes and payouts like this could be illegal, but here we are. And, keep in mind, this could all be a joke - but we've seen weirder things happen in the news. Just take this with a grain of salt, of course. John Oliver, a television show host, is now offering Clarence Thomas a massive payout to resign from the Supreme Court. Oliver said he would pay Thomas $1 million a year and give him this massive luxury RV worth over $2million if Thomas resigns from the Supreme Court within 30 days.

Oliver says, “you deserve a break, you know, away from the meanness of Washington so you can be surrounded by the regular folks whose lives you made demonstrably worse for decades... I think you’re thinking, what would my friends say if I take this offer? Will they judge me as they sit in their boardrooms and megayachts and Hitler shrines? Will they still treat me to luxury vacations and sing songs about me off their phones? Well, that’s the beauty of friendship, Clarence. If they’re real friends, they’ll love you no matter what your job is. So I guess this might be the perfect way to find out who your real friends actually are.”

This comes from reports that Clarence Thomas allegedly accepted gifts from donors. I could not care less who gave or gifted someone something at this point. We all know politics is corrupt from the inside and out, at just about every level you could imagine. On the contrary, wait until official reports come out on Thomas before making an assumption or decision about how you feel. Wait for the facts, don't go by the feelings which is what a lot of Democrats do.

And look - I don't know about you, but you won't ever see me donating to a politician or a rich person. That's about the dumbest way to LOSE your money. I don't care if they're on our side or not, you do NOT give your money to rich people or politicians. EVER. They don't need your money, they WANT your money.

I'm wondering what Clarence Thomas is going to respond to this or just ignore it. What do you think? I know one thing though, I'd rather have a gift-taking Clarence Thomas in the Supreme Court than any Democrat.
