North Carolina Democrat faces felony court date days after flipping GOP House seat

Democrat LaKesha Womack is headed to court on a pending felony charge just days after unseating a Republican congressman, leaving voters with a new lawmaker already under a criminal cloud. Womack defeated incumbent Rep. Tim Moore in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District, taking 51.1% of the vote to Moore’s 48.9%, according to The Associated Press.
