Do We Need Purple Fingers to Save the Republic?
For 2,500 years, civilizations have battled election fraud with secret ballots, elaborate voting machines, sealed ballot boxes, and even purple ink. I witnessed that last method firsthand in Iraq, where citizens risked their lives to vote and proudly displayed their stained fingers. Today, America has technology the ancient Romans couldn't imagine, yet we still argue about whether elections can be trusted.
