Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis mirrored movie “Top Gun: Maverick” in a newly released campaign ad hoping to promote him against the corporate media and narrative. His wife Casey DeSantis posted the video on social media and it features DeSantis taking on the corporate media and fighting back during exchanges that he has had with reporters while serving as the state’s governor. The caption the Florida Governor wrote above the video goes like this: “Top Gov… Dogfighting… Taking on the Corporate Media… Rules of Engagement are as Follows:”

The ad begins with DeSantis saying: “Good morning ladies and gentlemen, this is your Governor speaking. Today’s training evolution: dogfighting. Taking on the corporate media.” He then continues: “The rules of engagement are as follows: Number one, don’t fire unless fired upon, but when they fire, you fire back with overwhelming force.” DeSantis then fires back at one reporter: “Does it say that in the bill? I’m asking you to tell me what’s in the bill.” “Number two,” DeSantis continues: Never ever back down from a fight.”
After that, the ad cuts to a reporter yammering: “If I could just complete the question though –.” DeSantis then fires back with: “So are you going to give a speech or ask the question?” “Number three, don’t accept their narrative,” DeSantis then resumes in the ad. DeSantis slams another reporter, saying: “Wrong. It’s a fake narrative. I just disabused you of the narrative and you don’t care about the facts,” reported Daily Wire.
“It’s why people don’t trust people like you, because you peddle false narratives,” DeSantis blasts another reporter. At the end of the ad, DeSantis can be seen in the cockpit of a fighter jet with his son in his lap, who says, “Let’s turn and burn!”
DeSantis made headlines ealier this year when he took on education, signed a bill criticized by Democrats, and slammed Disney as well. DeSantis signed House Bill 7 in April, which stated that, according to an explainer of the bill, Florida education would not include “indoctrinating students with CRT principles such as: ‘Members of one race, color, national origin, or s-x are morally superior. A person, by virtue of his or her race, color, national origin, or s-x is inherently racist, s-xist, or oppressive. A person’s moral character or status as either or oppressed is necessarily determined by his or her race, color, national origin, or s-x. Such virtues as merit, excellence, hard work, fairness, neutrality, objectivity, and racial colorblindness are racist or s-xist.’”
DeSantis stated: “No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race. In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”
DeSantis ripped Disney in March after they opposed Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law. “This bill is about providing protections so that they know they can send their young kids to school without them being s-xualized, without a school telling a young girl, for example, that she may really be a boy. And if schools are trying to do things that impact the health and well-being of the kids and they’re undertaking certain services, that parents have a right to know that and provide consent for it. So, this is a real bill that empowers parents, it protects our kids,” said DeSantis.
He also said that the entertainment giant should not bring California sensibilities to the Sunshine State while he is in Tallahassee. “For them to say that them as a California-based company are going to work to take those California values and overturn a law that was duly enacted and… supported by a strong majority of Floridians, they don’t run this state. They will never run this state as long as I’m governor,” he added.
