Poll Shows AOC beating JD Vance in 2028 Presidential Race

In a recent national poll conducted by The Argument/Verasight, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez narrowly leads Vice President JD Vance in a hypothetical 2028 presidential race. Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York, receives 51 percent support compared to Vance’s 49 percent. The poll’s margin of error is 2.7 percentage points, indicating that the results are essentially a statistical tie.

Poll Insights

The survey solicited responses from 1,521 registered voters between December 5 and December 11. When asked about their preferred candidate in a matchup between Ocasio-Cortez and Vance, opinions were divided. While Ocasio-Cortez enjoys a slight edge overall, the demographic breakdown reveals significant trends in voter preferences.

Demographic Support

The findings highlight a racial divide in candidate support. Vance leads among white voters, with 57 percent indicating they would back him. In contrast, Ocasio-Cortez secures strong backing among Black voters, garnering 79 percent support, and Hispanic voters, where she receives 64 percent. This disparity showcases the differing appeal of each candidate across various voter segments.

Additionally, gender dynamics also play a role in the polling results. The survey reveals that 54 percent of men support Vance, while 56 percent of women favor Ocasio-Cortez. Among college-educated voters, Ocasio-Cortez boasts an advantage, with 56 percent expressing support for her compared to 44 percent for Vance.

Implications for the Future

Though neither candidate has formally declared their intention to run for president, both are frequently mentioned as potential frontrunners for their parties in 2028. Ocasio-Cortez’s narrow lead suggests a possible competitive election cycle, with progressive Democrats potentially remaining strong contenders on a national platform.

Interestingly, the poll indicates that some voters are willing to switch allegiance. Eight percent of those who supported President Donald Trump in the 2024 election stated they would now back Ocasio-Cortez. Conversely, Vance captured five percent of voters who previously supported former Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Race Ahead

Further analysis reveals that while Ocasio-Cortez shows promise in this hypothetical matchup, she trails behind established figures in potential Democratic primary scenarios. In various polls, she has been positioned behind more recognized candidates such as Kamala Harris and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

In another recent poll exploring a three-way contest involving California Governor Gavin Newsom, Ocasio-Cortez, and Vance, Newsom emerged as the leader with 36 percent support, while Ocasio-Cortez and Vance were tied at 34 percent each.

Reactions and Future Considerations

The political landscape for the upcoming election remains uncertain. Former President Donald Trump has spoken about the strong potential of various Republican candidates, including Vance. Meanwhile, Vance has remained focused on his current role, emphasizing the responsibility he has to his constituents.

As the 2028 race begins to take shape, observers will undoubtedly keep a close eye on these candidates’ performances both in polls and in public discourse. The early polling results indicate a dynamic and competitive electoral climate ahead.

  1. I believe that is a lie from the mouth of AOC. Can you recall that she prophecied that we only had twelve years left due to climate issues and how about when she said Jesus was a refuge, she does not know fact from fiction and one day she will have to kneel before Jesus and tell Him about all the lies she spread all over America and the world, she will know then that Jesus is God.
