Natalee Holloway killer confessed, mystery solved after nearly two decades

The mystery about who killed Natalee Holloway is finally over after almost two-decades of mystery trying to figure out what happened to her back in 2005. Holloway was on a high school graduation trip when she was murdered, but mystery about where she was took over. The year was 2005 and she was in Aruba at the time. Her story made headlines everywhere as it was a huge mystery about what happened.

But now the mystery is over as Joran van der Sloot has officially confessed to killing Natalee Holloway and described exactly how he did it, which was very grotesque and people may not want to read much further if they think the details will disturb them.

CBS News reported that van der Sloot, 36 admitted to killing Natalee Holloway as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. This was connected to van der Sloot’s attempt to extort money from Holloway’s mother. Apparently, back in 2010, he wanted to get money out of her mother in exchange for telling her where Natalee’s body was. He wanted $250,000 for that information.

When it comes to van der Sloot’s confession, it goes like this… he said they were walking on a beach at night, then laid down and were kissing. He started touching her, but she declined his further advances. He kept trying, but she pushed back and said she didn’t want him touching her. She apparently kneed him in the you know what section. That’s when he basically attacked her. The CBS News report reveals more details:

In van der Sloot’s interview, he told his attorney he got up and kicked Natalee Holloway “extremely hard” in the face.

“She’s laying down, uh, unconscious, possibly even, uh, even dead, but definitely unconscious,” van der Sloot said, according to the transcript.

Van der Sloot then spotted a cinderblock nearby on the beach, and he hit Holloway in the face with it.

Seeing what he had done to Holloway, van der Sloot then said he decided to dispose of her body in the ocean.

“I walk up, uh, up to about my knees into the ocean, and I push her off into … into the sea,” van der Sloot said in the interview. “… After that I-I get out. I-I walk home.”

It’s good that the mystery is over, but the family will always live with the nightmare of what happened.
