Speaker Mike Johnson had a few things to say outside of the courthouse where the Donald Trump hush money trial is taking place. Johnson said: “The crime that they are accusing President Trump of is falsification of business records. But I think everybody knows he is not the bookkeeper for his company. President Trump is innocent of these charges.”
However, despite showing support for Donald Trump, there wasn’t the same feelings for Mike Johnson. Many social media users posted about Mike Johnson, calling him a RINO, and feeling like Mike Johnson wasn’t really, nor truly, on the side of Donald Trump. While Donald Trump was an ally early on, leading up to Mike Johnson becoming the Speaker of the House, it appears that Johnson’s support and credibility are dwindling.
Is this Mike Johnson’s attempt at winning back the hearts of Republicans? Some of his previous decisions turned people away from him, so he’d need a big move to gain trust back – if that’s even remotely possible in politics anymore. It seems like once someone turns their back to their party, that partisanship breakup happens and the party casts them out.
In theory, we should have more bi-partisanship where both sides work together for the greater good of the American people, but nowadays, in the social media era, everything is one way or the other. All the centrists, the people who can see things from both sides and can make critical decisions based on gathering more than one perspective of things, are being left behind. It’s like the right and left can’t work together anymore, but they should. And, to be honest, the Democrats have gone so far left they may as well be placed in an insane asylum. Once they let men join women’s sports, that was the end of it for me. I know many people feel that party has gone so far left that no one even recognizes them anymore.
