Man charged with pointing laser at Marine One

A man was arrested on federal charges Monday for allegedly pointing a laser at Marine One, the presidential helicopter carrying President Trump.

The suspect was identified as Jacob Samuel Winkler, 33, of Washington, D.C. He was charged with pointing a laser beam at an aircraft, which is categorized as a felony with a maximum sentence of five years.

The aircraft was already flying when someone from the Secret Service saw the suspect. Winkler was allegedly talking to himself, not wearing a shirt, and pointed the red laser pointer in the agent’s face after the agent pointed a flashlight in his direction.

The same Winkler then pointed the laser pointer at Marine One as it was overhead.
