Many people won’t believe it, but President Joe Biden really said this out loud during a speech: “My name is Joe Biden and I’m a lifetime member of the NAACP.” It’s unclear if he’s really a member or was just saying that to appease an audience. Joe Biden was speaking at the National Museum of African American History and Culture when he made this statement. Joe Biden was there to make remarks because this is the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. PBS reported on the event taking place in a news article:
Biden is speaking at the National Museum of African American History and Culture and — along with Vice President Kamala Harris — will meet with the leaders of the Divine Nine, a group of historically Black sororities and fraternities. And the president on Sunday is set to deliver the commencement address at Morehouse College, the historically Black college in Atlanta, and speak at an NAACP gala in Detroit.
Biden is trying to win the endorsement of the NAACP and their followers, but he has a tough road to climb considering the last four years didn’t go very well for his administration. One major topic of concern is the vast number of illegal immigrants flooding America because Democrats are allowing it to happen.
People in cities like Chicago and New York City are concerned because money that was normally allotted to programs for citizens could be redirected to pay for illegal immigrants. In one situation, a school was even closed down to the students so migrants could stay there for a night. That made parents across the city furious because many of them had to take off work or find last minute childcare because the Democrats inconvenienced them, putting the Americans second and the illegal immigrants first.
