8 questionable things in the $1.2 trillion spending package

After reading this, you may think the American government deserves to shut down because it seems like the politicians are working for themselves, not the nation they represent. The House vote was 286-134 on the $1.2 trillion government spending bill and it goes to the Senate next. This happened right before the deadline that could have shut down the government – which many now believe is probably better for us since the politicians are so far gone on both sides of the court. It’s almost like they forget they represent our country as a whole and they’re just out for themselves at this point.

NBC News said about the spending bill: “All 100 senators will need to greenlight a vote to pass the bill before the midnight deadline. If that doesn’t happen, the government would be forced into a partial shutdown on Saturday morning. President Joe Biden has called on Congress to pass it quickly and said he’ll sign the bill.” Well, after reading some of what’s in it, you may not want it passed. In fact, you may want the government shut down even more and politicians replaced by the dozens. Nebraska Examiner pointed out several things in the bill, many of which you wouldn’t know of because you probably aren’t going to read the entire bill. After all, I doubt most of the politicians read it themselves. The report said:

  1. U.S. troops and civilian Defense Department employees will receive a 5.2% pay raise retroactive to Jan. 1, 2024.

  2. The FBI’s new headquarters project — which has not only divided Democrats and Republicans, but also the congressional delegations from Virginia and Maryland — will receive $200 million for construction on the Greenbelt, Maryland, site via the General Services Administration.

  3. States will get $55 million in new Election Security Grant funding.

  4. Customs and Border Protection as well as Immigrations and Customs Enforcement will get more than $4 billion in funding increases.

  5. Child care and early learning programs at the Department of Health and Human Services will receive a $1 billion increase in funding. The boost will go toward the Child Care and Development Block Grant, which provides grants to state, territorial and tribal agencies, and Head Start, which provides funding to local grantees.

  6. The U.S. Capitol Police will receive a 7.8% funding increase.

  7. Afghans who assisted the United States during the war would be eligible for an additional 12,000 Special Immigrant Visas.

  8. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA, the primary aid organization in Gaza, would be stripped of U.S. funding after Israel accused agency employees of taking part in Oct. 7 attacks.

First of all – no one should receive a raise until our economy is back to normal. When it comes to election security, they could just require voter ID like everyone intelligent is saying. No ID = no vote. It’s that simple. And if you need to scan my ID to buy a bottle of Modelo, then why aren’t you scanning my ID when I vote on who runs my country? Where’s the backwards logic in that?

The $4 million going to Customs and Border Protection should actually go to contractors who would finish building the Trump wall. Clearly whatever Democrat leadership is doing is not working, so just hire contractors to do the job. I hear you can get cheap labor from Mexicans, so we can get a wall done right for half the price. Then I’d grant any of those folks a fast track to citizenship if they build the wall for us. What did Trump say, build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it! Ha! Trump was funny when he said that. In all seriousness, the border is a complete disaster thanks to Democrats. We need to fix that, big time.

Money for child care and early learning? This is only good if the government has no say in how education people spend the money. We want all the liberal pronoun blue-hair teachers out of the education system. Will this money help us find better teachers who won’t indoctrinate students and go along with the gender identity crisis that’s ruining people’s lives. I believe these kids are being brainwashed by adults and social media and tricked into thinking they’re something else. It’s either that or they have parents who don’t care about them and don’t give them enough attention, so these kids are seeking approval in other ways – even if it destroys their life.

Why does the FBI need all that money for something? Just take money from the criminals you bust haha! Free money if you steal it from the bad guys, right? I’ll let you folks sound off on the rest of these items in the comments. Enjoy it.
