Kid Rock has been banned from performing in California because Governor Gavin Newsom thinks his music is “horrific.”
Newsom’s office posted a statement on X saying: “BECAUSE OF HIS HORRIFIC MUSIC, CALIFORNIA WILL INDEFINITELY SUSPEND KID ROCK FROM PERFORMING IN THE GOLDEN STATE. YOU’RE WELCOME! — GCN”
The announcement came shortly after late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel’s show was indefinitely suspended by ABC. Some social media users have questioned the legality and seriousness of the ban as it appears to be satirical, at best.
It’s likely that Kid Rock’s ban was done in jest and Gavin Newsom probably cannot legally ban the musician, for no reason, from performing in the state of California.
